Considering the recently summoned press conference of Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic to the State Opera, the date of the press conference to the International festival Janáček Brno 2010 has been changed to 11 a.m. Thank you for your understanding.
In the name of all the organizers and partners we would like to invite you to the first press conference to the International Festival Janáček Brno 2010. The press conference will take place on April 30th from 11 a.m. in hotel ARIA (Tržiště 9, Malá Strana) and e.g. a director of National Theatre Brno Daniel Dvořák or a mayor of corporate town Brno Roman Onderka will be present among others. The program of the festival together with news on organization are going to be presented at the conference. The festival itself will take place in the second half of November 2010, more exactly from 16th to 28th November 2010.

The main organizer of the International festival Janáček Brno is the National Theatre Brno. The corporate town Brno supports National Theatre Brno financially in a form of contribution organization. The co-organizers of the festival are: Brno Philharmonics, Musical faculty Of JAMU, the Moravian Museum, the Masaryk University and The Brno House Of Arts.
Rocc (an opera director) and Tomáš Cafourek (secretary of the festival) happened to be guests in a favourite TV program of Brno TV called Vlna z Brna, in which they introduced behind the scenes information on preparation of the following International festival Janáček Brno.

The young team of the National Theatre Brno is preparing a world premiere of the original version of Janáček’s first opera Šárka from 1887. It has never been played before, as the only one original copy is kept in the Moravian Museum and thus visitors of the festival will have a unique chance to watch this forgotten piece by Janáček at the festival.
National Theatre Brno as the main organizer will again appear at the festival and, apart from the unique project Šárka in its original version from 1887, will open the festival with the world premiere of Mr. Brouček’s Excursion to the Moon in its version from 1917. Moreover, the ensemble of Janáček’s opera will be presented in a completely new versions under the direction of a British scenographer, director and a partly a writer Pamela Howard.
We are recently working on the second annual of the international festival for you. The main motto is “Janáček and expressionism”. The visitors of the November 2010 cultural action will be able to enjoy unusual dramaturgical fusion consisting of works by Second Viennese School composers together with composers of expresionistic style led by Janáček himself.
